Prognosis for children who suffer from cerebral palsy is a systematic process, and ordinarily the disease is diagnosed within the early stages of children’s lives. There are numerous symptoms indicating that the child exhibits anomalous behavior.

Prognosis of cerebral palsy sufferers is made on a few continuing ill-conditions which include:

    * The early prognosis begins when the newborn performs shakiness and untypical physical movement. The muscular inability of the child becomes more obvious with time. The prognosis can be made without difficulty if the child is carefully observed.
    * Anomalous posture of the child is also a symptom of cerebral palsy. The prognosis can be made when the children exhibit irregularity in physical positioning of their bodies and support only certain part of the body.
    * During the first months of the child’s life if the child does not perform typical reflexes and is unable to sense things, the prognosis for cerebral palsy can be made after conducting precise examination by the doctors.

It is very hard to predict cerebral palsy before the birth, and within the first months of the baby’s life. Making any prognosis about cerebral palsy is equally difficult.  Doctors ususally need time to observe symptoms and undoubtedly predict Cerebral Palsy.

Majority of doctors make a prognosis of Cerebral Palsy when they are totally sure that a child’s symptoms are directly and entirely related to Cerebral Palsy. There are many other diseases that may cause anomalies similar to Cerebral Palsy. However, there is an essential difference between CP and other injuries. The brain of a human can counter most brain damages with time, but Cerebral Palsy has lasting effects and a CP patient may never completely recover from this disease. In majority of cases, the precise and reliable prognosis for Cerebral Palsy is made after observing the child for years and controlling the mental and physical recovery. The team of doctors studies both the physical anomalies of the child and the links of such anomalies with the any brain injury. And then the prognosis of Cerebral Palsy can be made.

There are numerous types of medical tests, which the doctors employ for the prognosis of Cerebral Palsy. Such medical tests include computed tomography. This test enables to locate the undeveloped parts of brain tissues. Another type of test is MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). The test is employed to reveal those parts of the brain which seem to be damaged.
