Cerebral Palsy is a disease that affects a child before, at or after birth. This illness is common in babies who suffer from mental sickness or have experienced brain injury.
The brain injury is caused because of several reasons:
* Brain injury and mental illness could result from complications in birth
* The infant could have mental instability if the parent has a history of mental instability
* Brain injury could also occur if the infant is seriously ill after birth
Cerebral palsy ususally emerging from the birthing process afflicts the central nervous of the infant’s brain. The infant develops cerebral palsy and has its symptoms with time.
The symptoms of cerebral palsy usually include:
* The child may not be able to perform muscular movements
* The child may lack sense for identifying things
* The child may not be able to speak
* Other indications of CP are shakiness in body, inability to walk normally and incapability to use hands. However, this indications shows at later stage.
It has been stated that the most occurrence of CP takes place during the birthing process, and sometimes the disease occurs in a child even before delivery.
There main reasons of cerebral palsy occurence during the birthing process are:
* Mother’s illness — if the mother suffers from serious illness, the infant could develop CP
* If the mother has metabolic disturbances, this could have an influence on the physical and mental health of the infant in the womb
* Improper food and inadequate supply of oxygen to the child in the womb can lead to CP
* If the parent suffers from cerebral palsy, the disease can be transmitted to the infant
Cerebral palsy is everlasting disease and is not possible to cure it entirely. Thus, caution during the birth process is so important. We have to be sure that the infant gets maximum security. Cerebral palsy can also affect an infant as a result of carelessness on the part of physicians and parents. If appropriate precautionary measures and treatment are employed during the birth of the infant, the risk of getting cerebral palsy is comparatively low.
The parents of the child have to realize that this disease emerges from the birthing process and they have to do their best to ensure safety precautions. The mother should consume proper food and consult with doctors about both her and her child’s health before giving birth.
