All organs of a human’s body are extremely important and hence they should all be looked after. Fortunately, many people understand the value of these organs and their importance for health and do their best to maintain good health by looking after them. This means that these people are willing to ensure themselves longevity as much as possible. But on the other hand, there are many people who do not really care for their longevity or maybe they simply do not realize the consequences of carelessness in terms of health issues. As a result, they do not take care of their organs and organisms, which may be easily destroyed by habits that they develop on their own.
And there is no doubt that habits such as smoking cigarettes damage the lungs. And although there are lots of other factors aside from smoking that could damage a person’s lungs, it must be understood by people that smoking is something that is self-inflicted.
When an individual smokes, tobacco burned is inhaled depositing nicotine in the person’s lungs. And this is the nicotine inside tobacco that really affects a person experiences in terms of relieving stress, boosted energy and the like. It is known that tobacco contains many chemical substances apart from nicotine. These chemicals could lead to great amount of harm to the human’s body. There is also a direct danger- some of these substances may cause a cancer.
OTHER CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES MAY POSE OTHER RISKS
The chemicals in tobacco are known to be strong enough to harm a person, leading to smaller concerns such as staining of the teeth, lips face, hair, etc. It is caused by the tobacco smoke that touches the surrounding regions where it is inhaled. However, this is not the leading concern.
The main concern is about tobacco smoke that affects an individual’s lungs. This means that the substances within the tobacco have a direct effect on the lungs.
It has also been revealed that tobacco smoke basically harms the lungs in two ways: it clogs the passage ways and lines them with poisonous tobacco chemicals, and it eats into the tissues. Depending on the number of cigarettes that a person smokes, they would be regarded as at risk. However, even if somebody smokes only a few cigarettes now and again, s/he is also at great risk of developing diseases such as emphysema, cancer and other lung degenerative disorders.
SEVERE EFFECTS OF SMOKING ON THE LUNGS
Tobacco smoke is also known to eat into a person’s lungs due to the strength of the chemical substances it contains. The lungs begin to deteriorate and lose their capability of absorption. Due to it, breathing becomes very difficult for a smoker, because absorption of Oxygen into the lungs and Carbon Dioxide out of the lungs becomes complicated. This disorder may occur in various forms. Sometimes the lungs simply do not work appropriately, and a person finds him or herself losing stamina or finding it difficult to breathe.
Another reason for difficulty in breathing is through blockage taking place in the lungs. It is known that deposits of tobacco obstruct breathing. Sometimes this condition works together with the deteriorative or degenerative process. As a consequence, the lungs appear to be in a drastic condition, and living with such a disorder is quite complicated due to the pain that is involved. Very often whole families are disrupted because of a person’s lung condition. It must be asserted that a person should immediately stop smoking if s/he wants to avoid such circumstances.
